(4/1/21) - National Lockdown imposed for England

"The prime minister adds that given the alarming figures, it had become "clear that we need to do more" to bring the new fast-spreading coronavirus variant "under control" and help the vaccination roll-out in the UK.

He says we must therefore go into a national lockdown, with the government once more telling people to stay at home, except for specific reasons, including essential shopping, to work, if you cannot work from home, to exercise, to seek medical help, and to escape domestic abuse.

He says the government will be advising clinical extremely people to begin shielding again.

Primary and secondary schools must move to remote learning from tomorrow, except for vulnerable children and those of key workers, he adds." {Boris Johnson, Prime Minister} [Source: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/world-55527195]

(1/1/21) - Club Statement regarding club activities:

"It is with regret that the club will suspend all football until the next government guideline on the 18th January.

Whilst we appreciate the need for exercise and mental well being for children. We also must play our part in reducing the outbreak of this new strain of virus amongst our community.

2021 is a year in which we should focus on returning to normal and that starts with being responsible and liaising with local education in keeping with restriction guidelines.

With school having certain age groups back and some isolating, it would be naive for us to contradict those plans by allowing mixing of age groups and players together twice a week at training and games.

The Ambassador Evesham league and Gloucestershire Girls County League have suspended all football until the 18th and as the majority of our teams play in this league, it would seem conflicting with allowing our Cheltenham teams to continue.

Also with the concerns from our own parents who have been consulted and have others to think about. I would feel uncomfortable knowing that possibly the actions of us resuming would entail the worst case scenario for a family. Yours regretfully, James Heath, Chairman

(1/1/21) - Evesham Ambassador League Statement:

"Further to the Government’s announcement on the 30th December 2020 to raise Warwickshire and Gloucestershire to Tier 4 and given the proximity of many of our Worcestershire Clubs and players to these Counties we have taken the decision to suspend ALL AEFL fixtures until the next Government review on scheduled for the 13th January. Given the closeness of the 13th to the fixtures on the 16th we will also cancel fixtures on this date too.

This means ALL League and Cup fixtures scheduled for the 9th and 16th January will be postponed by the League.

We will review the position again following the next Government announcement scheduled for the 13th January 2021." {Tony Gittens, League Chairman}

(31/12/20) - Cheltenham Youth League Statement:

"We will again continue to follow the Govt/FA Guidance with regard to youth football and travel restrictions.

So Fixtures will be rearranged to accommodate this but before we do, can Clubs advise of any teams in their clubs which are not happy with playing, as no one is expected to play unless they wish to. We will then arrange fixtures for those wanting matches.

Just so I know….I will be assuming unless you tell me that all Clubs/Teams are in Tier 4 barring the Worcestershire Teams." {Dee Pates, League & Fixtures Secretary}

To our teams who play in the Cheltenham Youth League, can all managers please inform Jame Heath if they would like to play their fixtures, thank you.
