Cheltenham Town Players Visit to Training

This week we had visits from Cheltenham Town FC First Team players Owen Evans and Sean Long and Cheltenham Town Ladies Holly Rogers! All TTC players were getting photos, autographs and even getting to play a bit of football with them.

Owen Evans goal keeper from the Robins attended Monday's training slots, meeting our players, signing autographs, posing for photos with them and of course, facing some penalties from our players.

Neil Taylor our U11 Colts manager said "It was nice to see him". Fin Baldwin who plays for the U11 team said that he was "excited to see him".

Sean Long then came along to our Tuesday training session and did the same thing with the players there too.

Paul Young, U13s Pumas coach said "Good to see him down here, it's great to have the support from our nearest professional club."

Ryan Pilsbury who plays for the Pumas U13s said "bit nervous having him watch us play football but great to have his support."

Finally, the Women's National League Division One South West Champion & Gloucestershire FA Women's Trophy winner, Holly Rogers from Cheltenham Town Ladies came along on Thursday's training slots to visit our Wildcat Centre and our other teams.

James Heath, Tewkesbury Town Colts FC Chairman said,

"It is with great gratitude that the club were able to receive a wonderful gesture by Optimising I.T.

Through their generosity they organised a visit from League 1 Cheltenham Town F.C players to attend our training sessions to meet and greet our young players.

It was such a great inspiration to our players to be able to meet them, whilst also being a wonderful advocate for Cheltenham Town FC and their commitment to grassroots clubs in and around the community. A wonderful experience indeed!"

This was all thanks to Optimising IT (OTI). They are an IT Services & Cloud Solution Specialist. Whether you’re looking for a full range of fully-managed IT services or one-off support packages, Optimising IT are the service providers for you.

Geoff Smith, Non-Executive Director at OTI and U15 Pumas Coach said

"The business is growing and increasing its community engagement on a number of fronts with local charities such as Cheltenham Young Carers, Gloucester Rotary, Trinity Church and local community groups/sports including Cheltenham Tigers and Cheltenham Sea Cadets. The most visible is engagement with Cheltenham Town FC where we are also looking to develop engagement with the community trust. As part of the partnership with CTFC there is an annual player appearance. This is normally used by club partners for corporate events etc. Rather than that I proposed and was agreed by the business it would have better social value and benefit if we could donate that time to a local youth football club - naturally TTCFC."
