On Sunday 2nd February, U13 Colts took to the pitch to play Leckhampton in their Quater Final Plate, within the Cheltenham Youth League.
The unbeaten U13 Colts started the match up the slight hill but brilliantly, they pressed the space, put pressure on Leckhampton and worked like a well-oiled machine. Within the first five minutes of the match, Colts were 1-0 up with a goal from Adam Banfield. Colts were certainly trying to pile the pressure on what seemed a reserved Leckhampton team. As the first half continued, Colts worked hard to gain a further two goals which came from Jude Robinson and Logan Hicks-Roberts. The Leckhampton keeper made some incredible saves, but his team were 3-0 at half time.
After half time instructions, both teams took to the pitch once again. Leckhampton looked a bit more alive in the second half by pressing the ball and putting the Colts under pressure quicker. They did have a few more opportunities come their way however, with both the Tewkesbury keeper making some brilliant saves and not having the finishing product they were unable to squeeze it in and remained 3-0. Colts weren't worried though, their three-goal lead and their managers/coaches inspiration drove them forward again and again.
This freekick awarded about 5 yards away from the penalty box was brilliant, with a brilliant ball into the box which was followed up by Luke Sherbourne which took them 4-0 up.
Leckhampton now just wanted a consolation goal to show for their efforts. After an attack on the Tewkesbury goal - corner Leckhampton, with a good effort from the corner nearly catching the Colts keeper out although, he managed to get a hand to it which then was cleared from the Colts half.
Colts still wanted more though, they pressed the Leckhampton team until the final whistle. Jude Robinson got the final goal which saw the team win 5-0 at the full time whistle.
They will now be playing Bourton Rovers at home on 1st March 2020 in the semi-final.
